Three Fatalities on Washington Roads On Saturday | Seattle Personal Injury Lawyer
A motorcyclist died Saturday off U.S. Highway 12. The Vancouver man, identified as 64-year-old Gene J. Maulsby, veered off the road for unknown reasons, and hit an embankment, and sustained fatal injuries west of Naches, Washington. Sadly that was not the only bad news on Saturday. In what the Washington State Patrol believe was an alcohol or drug related auto accident, two people died outside of Monroe. WSP troopers say that sometime just after 2 a.m. Saturday, an eastbound 2008 Hyundai Tiburon went off State Route 522 to the right, then veered across the center line and collided with a 2001 Ford F-250 pickup truck. Two men in the car, both in their 20s died at the scene. A second passenger, 26-year-old Christopher A. Anderson of Everett, was listed in serious condition Sunday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. These two separate events can serve as a reminder for all of us that drive the roads of Washington State. First, motorcycles often have a much lower margin for error. When a mistake is made on a motorcycle, the accident that follows can lead to serious injury or even death. Motorcycles riders must constantly keep safety first and stay ever vigilant. Second, NEVER EVER mix drugs and alcohol with driving. The results can be catastrophic, resulting in wrongful death or serious injury. The lives of at least four families will be forever changed after the tragic events of this weekend.
