Truck Flips Doing Donuts on the Beach | Bellevue Wrongful Death Lawyer

If one chooses not to drive safely for those he or she shares the road with, they should at least drive safely for themselves. As a Seattle car accident lawyer, I cannot stress how dangerous vehicles can be when one drives recklessly. Mixing high speeds; thousands of pounds of steel, iron, and metal; and a careless attitude is a formula for a fatal accident whether you are inside or outside a vehicle.

On August 5^th, early in the morning, a 21-year-old man from Edmonds was enjoying Grays Harbor County beach with two of his friends. The man was behind the wheel of a white 2006 Toyota Tacoma with two passengers, a 28-year-old Everett woman and Jose Aeteaga-Navarrete, a 21-year-old from Bothell. According to Washington State Patrol, the driver was performing donut maneuvers with his vehicle a mile north of Pacific Beach when he lost control of the vehicle and the truck flipped. Aeteaga-Navarrete was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver and the other passenger were taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital.

The death of the passenger means that even though the truck may have not collided with any other cars or with a pedestrian, risky driving can result in catastrophic disaster. The least the three could have done is to wear their seatbelts, which WSP has reported they were not. Our sympathies go out to the family of Aeteaga-Navarrete, and we hope that the two other people involved in the accident have a speedy recovery and a big change of thinking when it comes to how to behave behind the wheel.
