WSP Trooper Hit By Speeding Driver | Seattle Car Accident Lawyer
Speeding is never a good decision, but speeding and running a red light is a recipe for disaster. As a Seattle car accident lawyer I have seen plenty of victims that were seriously injured in a Bellevue car accident because the driver that hit them was speeding and lost control of their vehicle. These car accidents are completely avoidable and are unfair to the victims that have to suffer through injuries because of the other driver’s negligence. Early Saturday morning a Washington State Patrol trooper was injured in an accident when a speeding car flew threw a red light and straight into the trooper’s car. The collision happened at the intersection of State Route 512 and South Tacoma Way, fortunately that intersection is equipped with cameras so police will be able to completely review all the footage when charging the other driver. The front end of the trooper’s car was completely smashed in and the officer and the other driver were both transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Police also believe that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash but won’t know until BAC tests come back. The negligent driver in this case is very lucky that the trooper, who risks his life everyday to keep us safe, wasn’t injured. There is no excuse for reckless driving and if the other driver was intoxicated that is even worse. As a Bellevue personal injury lawyer my thoughts go out to the trooper and I hope that he has a speedy recovery.
