Yakima, Washington Three Car Accident Results in Serious Personal Injuries | Seattle Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Attorney
A three car collision in Yakima, Washington resulted in two individuals being sent to the hospital with serious personal injuries. The man who is suspected of causing the car accident, Jose Jara-Avalos, a 44-year-old Yakima resident, was immediately taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of facial injuries. Police suspect that Jara-Avalos was speeding and he is also being investigated for the possibility of driving under the influence of alcohol. Jara-Avalos’s car was seen by witnesses speeding in an attempt to pass a Dodge Caravan. This Caravan was being driven by 50-year-old Glenn Harrington. After Jara-Avalos passed Harrington, Jara-Avalos smashed head on into a third vehicle. This third driver was Norma Reyes-Salgado, who suffered significant lower extremity injuries and is being treated for multiple ankle fractures. Hopefully investigators will find that Jara-Avalos was not under the influence during this incident, because there have been far too many accidents caused by alcohol lately. Additionally, if Jara-Avalos was drinking he will face much stiffer charges for his conduct. Authorities also said that Jara-Avalos was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. The combination of drunk driving and failure to wear a seat belt is a dangerous. Neither of the activities should ever be done when operating your automobile. We wish a full and quick recovery for the injured and that they may learn better driving habits in the future. Passing on a two lane road is extremely risky and dangerous and if you feel you must do it, please do it safely.
