As a Seattle drunk driving accident lawyer, I encourage everyone a happy and safe Super Bowl weekend. Super Bowl Sunday is a huge party day that often involves alcohol consumption. According to The Seattle Times, law enforcement wants to remind everyone that DUI enforcement will be out in force for Sundays highly awaited game. King, Snohomish and Pierce county law enforcement agencies are hoping to avoid any DUI accidents on Sunday by spreading the word of the crack down before the big day. Hopefully this will get people thinking about assigning a designated driver or taking a cab or bus if they are planning to drink during the game.

The article goes on to say that half of the traffic accidents that occur on Super Bowl Sunday are alcohol related according to the Public Health. This is a sobering statistic that police officials hope to change this year. Truck Accident Loses Heavy Load | Washington Commercial Truck Accident Attorney

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Commercial trucks and semis are used for the transportation of large cargo over long distances. Sometimes the cargo can be just as dangerous as the large truck itself. As a Seattle truck accident lawyer, I understand how dangerous large commercial trucks and semis can be along highways and other roads. According to KIRO TV News, a semitruck was left bent and misshapen after hitting a dip in the road. The accident occurred on Monday morning at Martin Luther King Way and South 129th Street. The truck was carrying barrels of heavy steel bands on a trailer at the time of the accident. After leaving a parking lot, the truck hit a dip in the road causing the trailer to buckle under the pressure. The chains holding the steel bands in place snapped causing the bands to roll off of the trailer and onto the road. Luckily, no other vehicle was in the immediate area and no one was hurt in this accident.

Truck drivers and others nearby need to be careful after a truck or semi accident. Because large commercial trucks may also carry hazardous materials, an increased chance of fire may occur when in an accident with other vehicles or objects on the road. Trucking accidents can be devastating due to their size and their heavy loads. Distracted or fatigued driving can contribute to many of the truck related collisions.

If you or a loved one have been seriously injured in a dangerous accident, then contact a dedicated Washington commercial truck accident attorney to further discuss your options and legal rights. Trucks and semis tend to carry heavy loads that can be very dangerous to others on the road if involved in a traffic collision. Paying attention to possible obstacles on the road is important. If you have been injured in a truck accident that was someone else’s fault, you may need legal representation to ensure that it does not become a medical burden to you or your family. Accident At New Roundabout Causes Concern | Auburn Personal Injury Lawyer

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

In an attempt at reducing speeders, King County built a roundabout that has raised concerns ever since a vehicle crashed just hours after being open to the public. As a Seattle personal injury attorney, I know that aggressive driving behaviors such as speeding and inattention to the road often results in dangerous accidents. According to KIRO TV News, the newly built and strategically placed roundabout is the center of conversation as a pending investigation questions the general safety regarding the roundabout. A car that lost control, hopped the curb and flew down a ditch into running water sparked the debate. The roundabout, located at Peasley Canyon Road and Peasley Canyon Way near Auburn, is right next to a drainage ditch with no guard rail. Locals of the area are worried about the new roundabout, stating the speed limit is 40mph but vehicles often travel 45-50mph and with no guard rail, cars are susceptible to barreling down the ditch and into the water. County officials claim the roundabout will reduce speeders and a guard rail is not necessary at this time. The county included that there is a flashing light to warn drivers of the upcoming roundabout but the light is currently without power.

Roundabout intersections are intended to reduce speeding and potential speed related accidents, however, it is ultimately the drivers responsibility to drive with caution. Speeding, failing to follow traffic signals, and inattentive driving behaviors are all aggressive driving habits. These types of traffic offenses often lead to many auto accidents that can include severe to fatal injuries.

If you or a family member have been injured in a vehicle accident, contact a dedicated Auburn personal injury lawyer today. First Day of Mercer Project | Seattle Car Accident Attorney

Monday, January 30th, 2012

As a Seattle car accident lawyer, I know that the distractions created by major construction projects can cause serious accidents. KOMOnews reported this morning on the first weekday of the reconfiguration of the I-5/Mercer Street interchange.  The city hopes for a much smoother traffic pattern. Drivers who use this interchange will need to get used to a smaller number of open lanes during the project, as well as a significantly different configuration of turn lanes. Some of the people that KOMO spoke with seemed to be pessimistic about the traffic situation for the immediate future. Of course, the hope is that in the long term the changes will ease congestion and help traffic flow more smoothly.

Driver distraction is one of the leading causes of the millions of car accidents that take place annually around country, as well as right here in Washington State. There are many forms of distraction, from drivers trying to multi-task (texting, talking on the phone, putting on make-up, etc.) to rubber-necking at accident sites. In the case of a major construction project, a major change in the traffic pattern on a driver’s regular route can be a source of distraction and stress, at least until drivers get used to the new pattern. For this reason, I urge everyone who gets on or off of I-5 at Mercer Street to be very careful and focus on the road.

If you or a family member have been seriously injured in a car accident, speak with a Seattle car accident attorney as soon as possible to discuss your options. At Premier Law Group, we have helped many people recover compensation after serious injury accidents. Of course, your health and the health of your family is the most important thing, but an accident that was caused by the negligence of another driver should never cause your family financial hardship. I can help ensure that insurance pays a fair settlement on the claim, and that your medical bills, repair bills and lost wages that result from the accident are covered. Friday, January 27th, 2012

According to Kitsap Sun News, a Bremerton police officer was injured in a car crash after another driver failed to stop at a stop sign. The accident occurred around 7:30pm at the intersection of Warren Avenue and Fourth Street in Bremerton. The police officer was driving south on Warren Ave. when a Kansas woman driving a Cadillac Escalade drove through a stop sign into the intersection and collided with the police officer who was driving a Ford Crown Victoria at the time. The police officer was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the Escalade and a passenger were uninjured during the crash. State troopers are still investigating the incident but they believe drugs and alcohol played a role in the dangerous accident. Highway Bicyclist A Concern For Safety | Federal Way Bicycle Accident Attorney

Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

There are rules and regulations on where and how a cyclist can ride in order to keep themselves and other cars safe while on the road. As a Seattle bicycle accident lawyer, I know how dangerous it can be for bicyclists on side roads not to mention freeways. According to KING 5 News, a bicyclist was caught on camera going down I-5 at highway speeds on a numerous different occasions. Cycling along a freeway is illegal and is extremely dangerous for himself and other highway commuters. Due to fast speeds, lack of shoulder room, and close proximity to highway traffic it is highly dangerous for any bicyclist to attempt. This highway risk taker has eluded the police several times by dodging traffic and jumping barriers. The police continue to search for this cyclist, claiming public safety is their main concern.

When your are a pedestrian along side roadways it is always important to remember all safety measures. When you are along side a freeway, all safety cautions are at the mercy of the road. That is why bicycle and pedestrian laws are put into place. Being hit by a vehicle at highway speeds is most likely going to result in fatal injuries for the rider and potential injuries for the driver of the vehicle.

If you or a loved one have been injured in a car accident, then contact a dedicated Federal Way bicycle accident attorney to further discuss your options and legal rights. Vehicle-bicycle collisions can cause devastating injuries due to the exposure of the cyclist. The health and safety of your family is most important at this time and you may need legal representation to ensure that a bicycle accident that was someone else’s fault does not become a medical burden to you or your family. Troopers Encourage Everyone to Remain in Vehicle Along Highways | Bellevue Vehicle Accident Lawyer

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

According to KING 5 News, a tragic accident along Highway 16 occurred after a woman witnessed an accident and pulled over to help. As a Seattle vehicle accident attorney, I understand how devastating pile-ups can be on the highway due to inclement weather. It is difficult for witnesses to stand back and not immediately rush to help, exposing themselves to other vehicles on the road as well. In this case, a 44 year old woman and a state trooper were hit by a vehicle that had spun out of control in an area of the highway that contained patches of black ice. The woman was killed as a result of the accident and the trooper suffered minor injuries. State troopers say getting out of your vehicle can be a distraction for other drivers and encourage everyone to remain in their vehicles with seat belts on to avoid tragic incidents such as this.

Driving during freezing temperatures is dangerous due to black ice on the roads and often brings many accidents and injuries. Icy roads are common this time of year and the best way to prepare for driving during inclement weather is to drive with caution. Black ice is sometimes unavoidable and driving slowly for the conditions could help reduce spin out collisions.

If you or a family member have been injured in a car crash due to inclement weather, contact a professional Bellevue vehicle accident lawyer today. Driving too fast or reckless for the conditions can result in tragic traffic collisions. Deciding if and when to take legal action after an auto crash can be frustrating. Tragic Pedestrian Collision Along SR 526 | Seattle Pedestrian Accident Attorney

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

According to KING 5 News, a tragic vehicle-pedestrian collision resulted in the death of one person. As a Seattle pedestrian accident lawyer, I understand how dangerous it is for pedestrians near or on the road especially along major streets or highways. Cars travel at top speeds along highways and are not necessarily expecting to see pedestrians in the road which makes it extremely difficult to stop or avoid collisions. This accident took place along State Route 526 near Seaway Boulevard around 5a.m. this morning. The collision was between a SUV, traveling eastbound, and a man trying to cross the busy highway. Police are looking into an abandoned Toyota Corolla nearby as the pedestrians vehicle and reason for attempting to cross the lanes on foot. Police are also investigating if weather was a factor in the accident. Eastbound lanes were closed pending the investigation.

The Pedestrian Safety Guide has reported that in 2003, nearly 5,000 people were killed in traffic related accidents in the United States. Pedestrians need to be extra careful when crossing the street, especially along major roadways, in order to remain safe. The general speed and congestion that state highways can produce adds greatly to the risk of fatal pedestrian collision injuries.

If you or a loved one have been seriously injured in an auto-pedestrian collision and have questions concerning your case, then contact a knowledgeable Seattle pedestrian accident attorney to further discuss your options and legal rights. Pedestrian accidents are very devastating accidents that can cause serious and even fatal injuries. You may need legal representation to ensure that a car related accident that was someone else’s fault does not become a medical or financial burden. For more information and a free consultation, call me at Premier Law Group at (206)285-1743. Our thoughts go out to the friends and families of all traffic accident victims.

Wrong Way Bothell Driver Causes Collision | Seattle Car Auto Collision Attorney

Friday, January 20th, 2012

This morning in Bothell, a driver who was going the wrong way on I-405 was involved in a head-on collision according to KING5.com. The collision resulted in injuries to both drivers that do not appear to be life-threatening to the drivers of both vehicles. As a Seattle auto collision attorney, I know that bad weather can make driving much more difficult, and I think that this makes it especially important, when driving in bad weather, to focus on the road as much as possible. State Troopers are looking into the degree to which weather was a factor in the accident, as well as the possibility that alcohol or drugs may have been a factor. The fact that sticks out the most to me in this case is that the woman is believed to have driven about four miles in the wrong direction before the accident. The road was closed for clean-up and evidence collection, but has since reopened.

Snow storms such as the one that we have all been dealing with are not as common here in western Washington as in many other cities, and so weather may certainly play a role in some car accidents when it does snow. From cars having trouble gaining traction on the steep hills in Capitol Hill to sliding on ice as the temperatures fluctuate after snow fall on the highway, there are a number of ways that weather can factor into a car accident. Because of the dangers that poor conditions can represent, it is more important than ever to focus on the road and the other cars and trucks sharing the road.

If you have been involved in a car accident in which you believe another driver was negligent, speak with an experienced Seattle auto collision attorney as soon as possible. Bad weather does not mean that a negligent driver is not responsible. A driver who does not take use caution for the driving conditions and, as a result of that lack of care causes an accident, would be considered a negligent driver. I have helped numerous people recover compensation for medical bills, property damage and lost wages after serious car accidents. For more information and a FREE CONSULTATION call me at (206)285-1743.

Freezing Temps After Snow Storm Difficult for Truck Drivers | Bellevue Commercial Truck Accident Lawyer

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

Icy roads and freezing temperatures have been particularly difficult for trucks to travel through safely. As a Seattle commercial truck accident attorney, I am aware of the harsh driving conditions that the last winter snow storm has created for drivers throughout the freeways of Washington. According to KING 5 News, multiple accidents involving commercial trucks were reported due to inclement weather conditions after the major snow storm recently in the area. Two isolated semi-truck accidents were seen on Western highways Thursday morning. One accident, along I-5 south, involved a UPS truck that tipped over onto its side and slid along the barrier causing gas tanks to leak diesel fuel. Another accident resulted in a semi ending up on its side in a ditch after taking a ramp at 55mph, too fast for the slick road conditions. Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in the accidents and no serious injuries were reported.

During rough winter weather it is important for large trucks and semis to be extra cautious while driving in order to avoid slick roads and sliding into other vehicles or off of the road. Commercial trucks are a large population on our highways and due to their large size and weight they can be very dangerous if involved in an accident.

If you or a family member have been injured in a vehicle accident, then contact a dedicated Bellevue commercial truck accident lawyer to further discuss your options. Commercial vehicles and semis are very dangerous due to their heavy size and diesel engines. Making sure to pay attention to the road conditions and to the other drivers around you is important. If you have been injured in a truck accident that was someone else’s fault, you may need legal representation to ensure that it does not become a financial burden to you or your family. For more information and a free consultation, call me at Premier Law Group at (206)285-1743.
