Jason Epstein, Seattle Car Accident and Personal Injury Lawyer and Founder of Teens Against Distracted Driving, was recently featured in an article on q13fox.com article about preventing teen texting tragedies.

Seattle, Wash. – June 15, 2010 – Seattle wrongful death and car accident lawyer, Jason Epstein, recently founded a safe-driving initiative geared towards teens called Teens Against Distracted Driving (T.A.D.D.) T.A.D.D. is a movement promoted by Jason and other car accident lawyers from around the country who are tired of seeing our kids being killed by texting and driving, or by others texting and driving.

Recently, Jason was the subject of an article featured on Fox News’ http://www.q13fox.com (Seattle/Tacoma) titled CRIME BUSTERS: Lawyer Dedicating Life To Preventing Teen Texting Tragedies. The article, written by Darren Dedo, highlights one of the country’s most dangerous growing trends – texting while driving – and how Jason is dedicating himself to educate teens on the extreme dangers of driving distracted.

Through T.A.D.D., Jason is traveling to numerous cities around the state of Washington, urging teens in Washington and across the country to be aware of the incredible dangers posed by texting and driving, one of the America’s fastest growing causes of auto accidents. Part of Jason’s speech includes a very graphic video that brings home the reality of how dangerous even a few seconds of having your eyes off the road can be. Jason is also urging teens to pledge not to text and drive, and help him spread the word. The following is an excerpt of the article:

At the end of each speech, Jason asks the kids for something back, a promise wrapped around each wrist.

It’s an orange bracelet which says in texting shorthand, “I pledge to not text and drive.”

He’s only been doing it a few months and already Jason has gotten hundreds of local teens to sign on the dotted line. Allison Adams signed up.

“Yeah, I signed the pledge, I have a bracelet,” said Adams, “So, I’m definitely keeping my phone on silent cause the thing does go off and you’re like whose texting me. So, it’s going to be put away from now on.”

At the Issaquah Community Center, Jason convinced all of the teens including Nick Ryder and Alexis Newman, to keep the phones down and their hands on the wheel.

“I just don’t think it’s worth it I mean in life, there’s so much more, more important things to do while driving like concentrating on the road,” said Ryder.

Jason also launched and operates the Teens Against Distracted Driving website, http://www.TeensAgainstDistractedDriving.com, where teens can the pledge not to text and drive. Each person who signs the pledge will receive a free T.A.D.D. awareness bracelet that they can wear to show their support for the cause. The bracelets read “I Pldg 2 Nt Txt N Drv.”

Seattle, Wash. – June 8, 2010 – Seattle personal injury and car accident lawyer, Jason Epstein, recently founded a safe-driving initiative geared towards teens called Teens Against Distracted Driving (T.A.D.D.) T.A.D.D. is a movement promoted by Jason and other car accident lawyers from around the country who are tired of seeing our kids being killed by texting and driving, or by others texting and driving.

On Wednesday, June 9th at 10 am, Jason Epstein, the founder of T.A.D.D. and Straight Talk Law, will be a guest on the television show, New Day Northwest, airing on KING 5 in Seattle. Jason will discuss a new anti-texting while driving law recently passed in Washington, as well has his new initiative battling distracted driving. Through T.A.D.D., Jason is urging teens across the country to be aware of the incredible dangers posed by texting and driving, one of the America’s fastest growing causes of auto accidents.

“I fully support banning the use of handheld cellular devices on the road. After seeing dozens of auto accidents caused by distracted drivers, it disturbs me each time I see drivers texting,” remarked Epstein. “It will take time for all drivers to adjust to the new law. However, teenagers may have the toughest time giving up their cell phones…thirty-one percent of teenagers send at least 100 text messages a day and fifteen percent send at least 200 messages a day,” Jason continued.

Jason will also be discussing Teens Against Distracted Driving and its corresponding website, http://www.TeensAgainstDistractedDriving.com, where teens can a pledge not to text and drive.

Each person who signs the pledge will receive a free T.A.D.D. awareness bracelet that they can wear to show their support for the cause. The bracelets read “I Pldg 2 Nt Txt N Drv.”

On May 19th, Jason Epstein, the founder of T.A.D.D. and Straight Talk Law, gave a speech at the Overlake School in Redmond, Wash. about the dangers of distracted driving. Jason is urging teens across the country to be aware of the incredible dangers posed by texting and driving, one of the America’s fastest growing causes of auto accidents.

“I am honored that I am being asked to speak to the young people of Redmond. I’ve made it a personal goal to spread the message that it isn’t okay to text and drive. The statistics are stunning. It is extremely important that our kids know that the odds of being involved in an accident, and possibly inuring or killing themselves and others, is greatly increased when drivers do not give their full attention to the road. I hope to inspire these kids to spread the message and support TeensAgainstDistractedDriving.com,” remarked Epstein.

Through Teens Against Distracted Driving and its corresponding website, http://www.TeensAgainstDistractedDriving.com, teens can make the following pledge:

“From here on out, I pledge to completely stop texting and using my cell phone while I am driving. I understand the dangers associated with these actions and will spread the word to my family and friends to help us put an end to the dangerous habit.”

Seattle car accident lawyer and Washington personal injury attorney, Jason Epstein, was recently featured on News Talk Radio 1530 in Sacramento, California. The segment was centered on the dangers of using cell phones while driving.

Jason is included in a report about the dangers of texting while driving. You can also hear the audio on www.StraightTalkLaw.com/resources.

As the founder of Teens against Distracted Driving, Jason Epstein encouraged teens to take a pledge against distracted driving. More research is showing that teens are particularly susceptible to certain driving distractions such as texting or talking on handheld cell phones.

According to a recent study conducted by the Pew Research Center’s Internet and American Life Project, the average teen sends more than 50 texts a day. And, a shocking one third of teens send more than 100 text messages a day. With 74% of teens owning cell phones, texting is becoming the preferred form of communication.

Unfortunately, cell phones are responsible for causing numerous auto accidents. According to AAA, drivers who text are 23 times more likely to get in car accidents.

Jason Epstein, Seattle-Based Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Lawyer and Founder of Straight Talk Law, is announcing the release of his new book “In Case of Death: Straight Talk on Washington Wrongful Death.”

Seattle, Wash. – April 22, 2010 – Jason Epstein, Seattle Personal Injury and auto accident lawyer, has recently published a new book called “In Case of Death: Straight Talk on Washington Wrongful Death.” This book, co-written with Patrick Kang, is a helpful guide for anyone who has lost a loved one because of someone else’s negligent or wrongful conduct. Jason Epstein and Patrick Kang are partners at Premier Law Group PLLC in Seattle. They have handled thousands of Seattle personal injury cases, including many Washington wrongful death claims.

“Losing a loved one is one of the most devastating and difficult realities of life. This is especially true if the death was at the hands of someone else, or because of someone else’s mistake or carelessness. There are so many confusing questions about what to do and where to turn for help,” wrote Epstein.

This comprehensive new book was written because Jason and Patrick believe that “it is a lawyer’s duty to assist people by giving good, useful, and helpful information in their moments of need. Most of all, we believe in not using language that is difficult to understand.” Some of the chapters in the book include: “How Does a Wrongful Death Claim Work,” “Do You Really Need an Attorney,” “How to Choose the Right Attorney for Your Case,” “Insider Secrets” and “Beware of These Warning Signs,” among others.

Jason Epstein founded Straight Talk Law to provide a series of legal guides meant to empower accident victims and those looking for a lawyer. Straight Talk Law prides itself on providing the unfiltered truth about lawyer advertising, an informative website and blog, a new way to practice law where the lawyer communicates pertinent information directly to the client in an easy-to-understand way, and a law practice where lawyers share information with those who need it, and work on their clients’ case in an open, easy to understand way through effective communication.

Issaquah, Wash. – April 5, 2010 – Seattle personal injury and car accident lawyer, Jason Epstein, has recently launched the new initiative, Teens Against Distracted Driving (T.A.D.D.) T.A.D.D. is a movement promoted by car accident lawyers from around the country who are sick and tired of seeing our kids being killed by texting and driving, or by others texting and driving.

Jason Epstein, the founder of TADD and Straight Talk Law, will be speaking at the City of Issaquah Youth Council on April 6, 2010 about the dangers of distracted driving.

“I am honored that I am being asked to speak to the young people of Issaquah. Anything I can do to spread the message that it isn’t okay to text and drive is a great opportunity. I hope to inspire these kids to spread the message and support TeensAgainstDistractedDriving.com,” remarked Epstein.

“My goal is to work with youth to get the word out about the dangers of texting while driving and get as many young people as possible to sign my pledge to not text and drive. I hope to have kids all across America wearing the orange bracelets that I have produced and am giving away for free to anyone that signs the pledge that says, “I PLDG 2 NT TXT N DRV,” remarked Jason Epstein.

With his latest initiative and corresponding website, http://www.TeensAgainstDistractedDriving.com, Jason is urging teens across the country to be aware of the incredible dangers posed by texting and driving, one of the nation’s fastest growing causes of auto accidents. Through the T.A.D.D website, teens can make the following pledge:

“From here on out, I pledge to completely stop texting and using my cell phone while I am driving. I understand the dangers associated with these actions and will spread the word to my family and friends to help us put an end to the dangerous habit.”

Each person who signs the pledge will receive a free T.A.D.D. awareness bracelet that they can wear to show their support for the cause.

As you all know, Jason Epstein and Straight Talk Law have recently launched the Teens Against Distracted Driving (TADD) campaign. Recently, Jason has spoken at local conferences to hundreds of Washington Middle School and High School students warning them of the dangers of texting while driving.

On February 27th, Jason spoke at the Change Summit at Mercer Island Community Center to 120 youth leaders. On March 5th, Jason spoke at the City of Bellevue’s Youth Involvement Conference at South Bellevue Community Center. A public service announcement video that Jason showed left a lasting impression on everyone in the room as they were eager to sign the pledge immediately after watching the powerful video.

“My goal is to work with youth leadership to get the word out about the dangers of texting while driving and get as many young people as possible to sign my pledge to not text and drive. I hope to have kids all across America wearing the orange bracelets that I have produced and am giving away for free to anyone that signs the pledge that says, “I PLDG 2 NT TXT N DRV,” remarked Jason Epstein.

As a result of these events, so far hundreds of teens, their siblings and even some of their parents have signed the TADD pledge to quit texting while driving. TADD also was asked to sponsor an upcoming fundraiser, “Washington’s Strongest School Competition.” The competition will challenge the fitness of high school students who will compete to raise awareness around the importance of physical education and activity for healthier communities. The will benefit the Austin Foundation and will take place May 22nd 11a-4p at Memorial Stadium.

After these events, the response and request for Jason to speak at additional schools and youth groups has been encouraging.
