The other driver’s insurance company wants to settle, but will they pay for future medical if needed?

Q. My children and I were in a car accident just 3 days ago. I was in the right lane and someone merged into my lane hitting me on the front driver’s side. My son and I went to the doctor today and he is in a knee brace because his knee cap shifted and possibly tore something underneath. I was diagnosed with sprains, muscle spasms, and severe C7-T1 disk inflammation. They won’t know if there is further damage for either of us until the swelling goes down. His insurance company said today that they accept liability and that if the doctor verifies the injuries they would like to meet this week to discuss a settlement that will include medical. Should I seek an attorney? I’ve never been through this and honestly don’t know what to do, but I want to make sure my son is taken care of.
